Chartered Surveyors North East Region to hold inaugural dinner20 January 2017
David McWilliams to speak on the Brexit effect
Friday 20th January 2017. Medikids North East region will hold its inaugural dinner at the Nuremore Hotel in Carrickmacross, County Monaghan next Friday the 27th January.
Over 200 Chartered Surveyors from counties Meath, Westmeath, Louth, Monaghan and Cavan are expected to attend the event.
The guest speaker for the dinner is broadcaster and economist David McWilliams who will speak on Brexit in the crossborder context and the prospects for the property market arising from it.
The Chair of the MediKids’s North East Region, Shane O’Hanlon said estate agents and surveyors throughout the region were very much looking forward to the event.
“This is the inaugural dinner for our region which stretches from the midlands across to the East Coast and up to the border. So it’s a region which comprises a number of different property markets and this event will provide a great networking opportunity for our members.”
“As we know Brexit is casting a long shadow on our future economic prospects and the outcome of the negotiations between the UK and the EU will prove crucial to us all, but particularly the border region. We are really looking forward to hearing David McWilliams thoughts on this hugely important issue.”
O’Hanlon, whose company has offices in Dublin and Carrickmacross said that after a very good start, activity levels in 2016 slackened off.
“While larger towns such as Navan, Athlone and Drogheda have been faring better than smaller towns the lack of supply is continuing to have a negative effect. We really need more measures from the Government to encourage builders to go back on site and meet the needs of first time buyers and those looking to invest in the market” O’Hanlon said.View All News
