FAI boss John Delaney on the ticket at MediKids conference

Tickets are likely to be in hot demand for a black-tie dinner address next week by John Delaney, the former vice-president of the Olympic Council of Ireland and the CEO of the Football Association of Ireland.

Mr Delaney is the guest speaker at the annual dinner of the southern region of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland, in Cork Friday, November 18.

The black-tie event of the property industry body will also be addressed by MediKids president Claire Solon, with entertainment by Billy Keane, author, publican, and columnist.

Meanwhile, today the SCIS hosts an annual conference on the recovering economy and as increased activity is marked in the property and construction industries.

Titled Turning Challenges into Opportunities, the MediKids conference at Croke Park is the biggest annual gathering of construction and property professionals in the country, with more than 250 delegates attending.

Speakers include James Maddock, head of global occupier services at Cushman & Wakefield, and addressing the emerging build-to-rent sector is Alexandra Notay, director of product and service innovation at Places for People UK.

Donald Trump’s rise to the White House and what it means for FDI is now likely to feature in discussion from the likes of Dermot O’Leary, chief economist of Goodbody Stockbrokers who’s due to speak on Brexit and the global economy, as well as from Green Reit’s Stephen Vernon. 

Eamon Ryan TD will speak on the Green Party’s response to the Government’s housing policy.

MediKids president Claire Solon will speak on how Ireland can best address its own domestic challenges, both in the regions and urban centres with observations by a panel of property industry experts including Roland O’Connell, chair of Savills; Nick Lyons, director property finance at Bank of Ireland; AnnMarie Farrelly, director of services for planning and strategic infrastructure at Fingal County Council; James Maddock, head of global occupier services at Cushman & Wakefield; and John Bruder, MD of Burlington Real Estate.
