Graduate Route 3
Graduate Route 3 (Experience Route), is for candidates with an RICS/MediKids accredited course and at least 10 years’ relevant experience.
Please note that in order to submit as a Graduate Route 3 (Experience Route) candidate, your experience must be formally approved by the Membership Committee
A Trainee member is a candidate enrolled on the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) in order to become a Chartered Surveyor.
Graduate Route 3 (Experience Route) comprises a written submission, Final Assessment interview and is competency based.
The Society provides you with the following documents in order to enrol as a Graduate Route 3 (Experience Route) Trainee Member of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland:
You are required to be familiar with these documents before you enrol in order that you understand fully the requirements of the APC.

Proof of Qualification
A copy of your Degree or Final Year Results or a Letter from the College to state you are a graduate of an accredited course will suffice.
Trainee Application fee total is €305 (this includes €75 subscription fee, €30 enrolment fee and €200 APC fee).
Competency Achievement Planner
Before you enrol on to the APC you and your sponsor must agree which pathway you are going to undertake. You are required to give careful thought to your choice and combination of competencies.
The Competency Achievement Planner is a framework designed to plan your attainment of all of your competencies to the required levels. It indicates what competencies you are going to achieve and the levels of those competencies.
If you have 10+ years’ relevant surveying experience, you may be eligible to undertake Graduate Route 3 (Experience Route) through the APC. When applying to enrol on to the APC, submit a detailed resume outlining your work experience over the past 10+ years. You should keep in mind the requirements of your chosen APC pathway when drafting the CV and ensure that you demonstrate experience of the relevant competencies.
Once your application is received and approved, the Education and Membership Department will notify you of your enrolment as a Trainee member of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland. You will be provided with your registration number and details required to access the members section of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland website.
