The Construction Contracts Act 2013 is set to have a huge impact on the construction sector in the coming years, particularly with the introduction of Statutory payment provisions and Statutory Adjudication as the primary dispute resolution mechanism for disputes relating to payment under construction contracts.

Expert determination is a process in which an independent third party, acting as an expert rather than a judge or arbitrator, is appointed to decide a dispute. His or her appointment is by the contract between the parties, which often provides for a nominated appointment.
